News From 2003

12.27.2003: It was another wonderful Christmas in Florida! We played golf, messed around with Sam's cars, and best of all sat down to a family dinner.

Friday, we headed over to Naples and captured a spectacular sunset and ate dinner at Campiello's restaurant. If you are ever in Naples, I highly recommend this joint.

All the pictures can be seen on the picture page.

12.20.2003: Well, I'll be heading out tomorrow to sunny Florida for the Holidays. So just wanted to give a quick update. Christmas will be spent with Mary, Geoff, Sam and Suzy in John's Island. Be sure to look back next week for pictures.

Also, as you can see, we have a little bit of a new look here - same content, new look.

12.13.2003: Well, not much to share this weekend. It is freezing here! A small (small, by Chicago standards) snowstorm is rolling through the city this evening. I can't wait to get to Florida for Christmas to enjoy some warm weather. Earlier today, Caitlin and I hopped in the "Subie" and took a marathon trip around the city to snap some shots. Check out the new header picture, as well as the slideshow on the picture page. The header picture is from today's trip around the city and the slide show contains some highlights from pictures contained on the site as well as a shot of Soldier field from across Burnham harbor.

12.07.2003 'Tis the Season!: Well, after a long search in the lots around Chicago, Caitlin and I got our first Chirstmas tree. As you can see, Santa still needs to fill the base of the tree - but that will happen over the next couple of weeks.

On a different note, Alison Gile has established her new logo for ali-gdesign.com. She will be using the site to start her new web-based graphic design, print media and hand craft business. Look for this come the new year, and definitely keep her in mind if you are in need of this type of stuff - she does a great job!

Finally, TOUCHDOWN! Got to give a shout out to those Donkeys! After an embarrassing loss to the Bears, (yes, I did hear it around the office) they are pulling out some great stuff. What a game against Kansas City. Portis for 218 yards and 5 touchdowns! How I love to see those Chiefs go down!

11.30.2003: Wow! What a Thanksgiving in Denver. The extended weekend started out with a surprising on-time arrival at DIA. When we arrived at Marshall's and Jenifer's home, we were greeted by the "degs". The weekend was filled with good "eats", good "drinks" and best of all good "friends".

Friday night, Marshall and Jenifer threw a wonderful cocktail party and we ended the night at Sara Gans' house. While at Sara's, we played some pool, killed some bugs and were humored by long-time friend - Peter Snow, as well as Merritt "who-was-that?" Gile.

Saturday night was spent dining at "Jou Jou" and watching the John Denver Revue - "Almost Heaven" at the DCPA.

And, so ends another wonderful Thanksgiving in Denver. Please take a look at the two albums covering the weekend, as well as Merritt's coverage.

11.24.2003: Quick update since there is nothing better to do on a cold Chicago evening. It getting so cold here, Libby is looking angry while trying to find a warm spot.

We will be heading out for the Thanksgiving weekend, so look for pictures of the weekend out here next week. In the meantime, I have spent a lot of time working to convert the pictures on the picture page, so please enjoy those !

11.22.2003 LAURA RETURNS TO CHICAGO: Laura paid us a visit for the weekend. After moving back to Denver, she had to see what she was missing in Chicago.

We spent the evening at Mcgee's which started out with free drinks, and got a little messy. It even drove Teasley to turn in her beer mug for a water glass. Check out the album for full coverage of the night.

11.16.2003 TOWARDS THE MARK CHANGES WEB HOSTING: Welcome to the new Towards the Mark website. With a relatively painless move of webhosting providers, Towards the Mark has changed to http://www.towardsthemark.net and the wedding website has changed to http://wedding.towardsthemark.net.

Please make sure to change your bookmarks and continue to enjoy these sites.

11.09.2003 Luke, Maggie, and Olivia Visit Chicago: No, this cute girl is not ours - Luke and Maggie visited Chicago this past weekend, bringing with them the latest addition to their family. Who wouldn't fall in love with a face like this?!

She is an amazing baby and is already attempting to say "hi" to people between her chortling. Once the picture page is up, there will be more pictures posted of the visit.

11.08.2003 Towards the Mark Gets a Facelift!: I decided the Towards the Mark Home Page was just too generic and gave it a facelift. Let me know what you think of the new "look" - joey@towardsthemark.net

Continue to look at the wedding page, where you will find changes daily! Latest change is Our Story.

11.02.2003 Here it goes!: This is the first attempt at a website to document our events. I plan on adding to and tweaking this website regularly based on feedback. Please enjoy looking through this site and let me know your thoughts. The first couple months will be spent primarily on the wedding page , so this home page will most likely contain minimial information. However, please look back regularly for updates.

10.01.2003 Hong Kong Trip: The picture above is from a place in Hong Kong called "The Peak". It is a tourist trap, however provides one of the most picturesque views of Hong Kong. While I was there for the SAP Hong Kong Sales Office roll-out, I was able to break-away from work and take the tram up to "The Peak" to take in one of the most amazing views I have seen. I will be adding more pictures of the Hong Kong trip to this website.
